// Bowman International School -- Palo Alto, California //
ADMISSIONS OVERVIEW

”I never dreamed an admissions process would teach me so much about a child’s education”

When can I apply for admission?

New students seeking admission are encouraged to apply any time throughout the year.

• Admission forms submitted before February 15th will be given priority for the following school year (which starts in September).

• Admissions are contingent on space availability.

• Current Bowman students are offered re-enrollment packages in early March.

What is the school tuition?

Contact the school for information about current tuition and payment options. Bowman has an “all-inclusive” tuition policy. The school does not assess for the extended day schedule or additional fees for books, materials, field trips (excepting Middle School trips requiring airfare) and snacks. All recurring educational costs are covered by tuition.

Bowman is committed to affordability and racial, ethnic, religious and economic diversity in our student body.

How do I apply for admission?

1. Start with a parent tour to learn about the Bowman program and observe it in action. Call (650) 813-9131 or email: info@bowmanschool.org to schedule a tour.

2. Complete an enrollment application, and return it with the application fee of $100 (checks payable to: Bowman International School). The application is available for download, and you can also call or email the school to obtain the form.

3. Finally, schedule a time for your child to visit the school:

• Your child's visit usually takes place over three consecutive school days.

• Younger children, if necessary, may visit for shorter periods of time.

• All children should plan to spend their time at the school unaccompanied by their parents.

Does Bowman have a waiting list?

Bowman does not have a waiting list. We have a "waiting pool" that consists of all qualified candidates for the school, based on the appropriateness of the match between the student and the school.

How are students selected for admission?

Bowman encourages and exemplifies racial, ethnic, religious and economic diversity in its student body.

The school is committed to maintaining a balance between the talents, experiences, needs, ages and sexes of different students in the classrooms.

Bowman selects students for admission from its "waiting pool" in the following order of priority:

• Siblings of students already enrolled in Bowman

• Children who have successfully experienced other self-directed programs

• Other qualified children
